“The Philadelphia Motor Speedway – Warminster: An Unrealized Dream”. Early in
the 20th century, automobile enthusiasts planned to bring “big time” auto racing to Warminster.
The vision was to create a speedway that would rival the famous Indianapolis Speedway.
An elaborate plan was developed, funding was secured, and actual construction started.
However, it was never completed. Imagine what Eastern Montgomery County would have evolved to be if
a successful speedway would have become an economic centerpiece. The tale of the rise and fall of this
dream will be shared. By: Jim Rubillo

“Music of the Circus” A survey of the development of circus music, including
instruments, bands, calliopes, and band organs. The presentation will look at the
role of the circus in disseminating music throughout the nation in the era before

of the Civil War and Victorian eras. It includes a display of authentic instruments and medicines.
